Quality and Performance

Quality & Performance

Since Troutex was founded in 2004, we have continuously strived to improve the quality of our trout strains and the ova we deliver.

More specifically, some of our quality standards when it comes to the trout ova are:

  • Highest possible disease free status. Certificates issued for all shipments.
  • All eggs are disinfected less than 24 hours prior to shipment.
  • Less than 0.5 % dead, blank or weak eyed eggs in batches shipped.
  • Packed in Polystyrene boxes with ice to ensure optimal conditions during shipment.
  • Minimum egg size unless otherwise agreed is 10,000 per liter from November to June.
  • All-female Triploid ova offered with a triploidy rate at a minimum of 95%.
  • Our late maturing all-female strain has a less than 5% maturation rate at a harvest size of 2.5-3Kg.

Our quest to improve quality goes on! If you have any suggestions or remarks regarding quality, please do not hesitate to contact us.

360° performance

Premium Trout eggs though knowledge, experience and genetics - Troutex

To achieve successful results in trout farming a number of parameters are of great importance. Some of the factors that have a strong influence on the farm performance are:

  1. Choose a genetically strong strain with the necessary potential for fast growth and a great appearance

  2. Don’t risk you profit and the health status of your farm. Use only high quality trout ova certified free of BKD, IPN, VHS and IHN.

  3. Use only high-energy extruded fish feed. Even the best fish will not grow without the right nutrition!

  4. The daily management of the site is crucial for the results both whenit comes to hatching rate, growth rates and stock performance.

  5. The conditions of the hatching equipment, feeding systems and other farm facilities play an important role in modern trout breeding.

  6. Water and environment parameters are complex and need to be controlled carefully in each hatchery. Water temperatures, oxygen levels, CO2 levels and pollution from incoming streams can all have a strong impact on the growth and performance.
